Job Description:
Gúnta Business Consulting is looking for an Assistant Project Manager in Whitehorse, Yukon. Assistant Project Managers provide necessary support for projects within the organization. Taking direct lead over various project aspects, assistant project managers work to help implement project goals as directed by the project managers. This role requires individuals to oversee project goals, create and deliver reports, analyze data from project execution, and any other duties as determined by project managers. As an Assistant Project Manager you have a creative mindset, are a self-starter, have demonstrated problem-solving skills and have a strong ability to convey complex thoughts in a clear and efficient manner, both written and oral.
Responsibilities / Duties:
Work directly with project managers to help implement project goals
Assign duties to staff / contractors to implement project goals, as needed
Oversee variable aspects of projects and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution
Overview project goals and ensure project goals are achievable
Liaise with project lead and other project managers to maintain project schedule and efficacy
Assist with procuring materials and other items necessary for completing project goals
Review project implementation and gather data on project execution
Coordinate with project managers and other project leads following project execution
Qualifications for Assistant Project Manager:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Political Science, and/or any Applied Sciences may be preferred. Other University post-graduate, and graduate degrees to be considered.
Verifiable leadership experience and capabilities, with past successful project execution
Ability and desire to work collaborative to ensure successful project execution
Willingness to learn about Yukon First Nations, the different languages, the local communities; and the intricacies, complexities and sensitivities of working within this challenging environment
Familiarity with proposal writing, researching, and business planning would be considered an asset
Expert-level experience/proficiency with computer operating systems, such as Windows and MacOS as well as with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat
Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details on time, on schedule, with the required level of quality
Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently and effectively
Manage sensitive information appropriately and maintain confidentiality
Integrity, honesty and responsibility with a desire to contribute to a team
Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Solid written, and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with various social media platforms
Periodic travel may be required
